The 70% myth
When a wine cabinet stops cooling, most owners assume the compressor has died. Our field records tell another story: roughly seven out of ten “compressor dead” calls end up being an NTC sensor drift, a seized circulation fan, a hardened door gasket or a dusty condenser. The compressor is usually the last suspect, not the first.
Our diagnosis order

- Log actual cabinet temperature at three shelf levels for two hours.
- Check airflow: hold the door switch and listen to the evaporator fan.
- Measure NTC sensor resistance against the spec table at room temperature.
- Inspect the gasket with the A4-paper pull test at all four corners.
- Only then measure compressor current against the nameplate.
| Symptom | Usual culprit | Fix |
|---|---|---|
| Uneven shelves (top cold, bottom warm) | Circulation fan weak or seized | Clean / replace fan |
| Display jumps, alarm at night | Sensor drift or door switch | Replace sensor / switch |
| Long run-time, warm door frame | Gasket micro-leak | Replace gasket |
| Slow pull-down in summer | Dusty condenser | Deep clean |

常見追問 FAQ
Do you cover all of Hong Kong?
Yes — Hong Kong Island, Kowloon and the New Territories; average response about 2 hours, commercial clients prioritised.
Can you repair built-in cabinets on site?
Mostly yes. Sensor, fan, board-level and gasket work is done on site; sealed-module leaks are assessed case by case.
